Hunguest Hotel Palota is located in Lillafured, a resort in Eastern Hungary, surrounded by the Bükk mountains in a picturesque valley. The building of the hotel is a neo-renaissance style castle, built between 1927 and 1930, surrounded by a large park and a unique garden. The climate is especially mild and gentle, perfect for treating asthmatic illnesses. The building, designed by Kalman Lux, a famous architect of the time, brings back the Renaissance style of the 1400s, the atmosphere of the reign of King Matyas - a beloved Hungarian king. Soon after its opening in 1930, the hotel became a favorite residence of high society guests, hosted many outstanding events, and acquired reputation as a climatic recreation and health resort. The Hunguest Company took possession of the building in 1993, and soon completed a large-scale renovation. Rooms were newly paneled and furnished, the lounge received period furniture - bringing back the atmosphere of the old times - and high standard sports and fitness centre was added. Today's three-star Hunguest Hotel Palota welcomes guests with outstanding facilities - along with its old chant.
