Hotel Raba has a historic past: it opened 100 years ago, under the name of its founder, as the Meixner-Royal Hotel. The hotel has been the centre of social life ever since, many celebrities have stayed here during their visits to Gyor. The town is the centre of Hungary's western region, conveniently located between Budapest and Vienna, preserving memorials of 1000-year-old Hungarian Christianity, such as the Episcopate founded by St. Istvan (Stephan), the Basilica and the Bishop's Castle.
